9 Month Stats!
On Tuesday, Madeline had her 9 month check up.
She now weighs 21 pounds 5 oz, (90th %tile) and is 28 1/2 inches long (75th %tile). She is a tremendous crawler and climber! She is getting more and more daring each day with climbing steps, and pulling herself up to stand! Madeline is also waving bye-bye/hello, clapping her hands, and raising her arms up in the air to say “SO BIG!”
She also has two new top teeth that have come through. She is doing really great, is so much fun to be around, even though she’s keeping Mommy and Daddy on their toes, it’s great to see her so mobile!!! Looks like we’ll be heading to Stride-Rite before we know it
ben’s birthday party!!!
Well, on Friday our buddy Benjamin turned 1. Saturday was his party, so we drove down to Virginia to help celebrate. Hard to believe we haven’t been down to see Dave and Suzanne in over 3 years…my how things change!
Ben is such a big boy, he’s walking and starting to talk and is such a cute guy! No wonder Madeline loves him!
The party was a lot of fun, there were plenty of kids there for Madeline to abuse…i mean, play with. I posted some pics so check them out. I also have some video that I will edit and post in the next couple days.
day at the beach
today, we took a little day trip to the beach to visit nonni and pop-pop who were celebrating their birthdays (1 day apart!!!). we spent some time in the pool and then headed up to the boardwalk for some fun.
madeline is a trip. check out the photos to see how incredibly excited she is to ride the rides!
anyway, enjoy the pics and happy birthday nonni and pop-pop!!!!
one love
yesterday, we went to the People’s Festival - Tribute to Bob Marley in Wilmington. It was hot, but at least it didn’t rain. The festival was really fun. Most people don’t know that Bob actually lived in Wilmington for a short time in the 60s. The festival has been going strong for 13 years…this was our first year, but we’ll definitely go back next year!
We took a few pics while we were there. Enjoy!
mobility
so, this last week or so, madeline has started crawling. now, she’s not REALLY motoring yet, but it’s just a matter of time. here’s some video of her…she really loves the guitar!
vacation all i ever wanted!
madeline says “HELLO!” from sunny FLA! we’re currently in the middle of our first family vacation in florida. my uncle joe lives down here, and grandmom and popper are down here for the week, so we’re here too! the weather has been really nice (not too hot!) and we’ve been having some fun in the pool and at the beach.
maddie took her first flight down here on wednesday and she was just great (it helped that the flight was barely 2 hours). she likes the pool, she’s still not so sure about the gulf yet, but i think she’s coming around. i am posting some pictures from our first few days, there will be more to follow as well as some video of maddie’s first time in the gulf! we only have 2 more days left until we fly back north!
Cutting Teeth
Madeline has cut her first two teeth! Her first two teeth (bottom) have popped through seemingly overnight!
There have been quite a few clues, such as: she’s been chewing on everything for the last week or so and not sleeping as soundly the last few nights. Also, today and yesterday, her nose has been running and her appetite seems to have taken a nosedive. Who knows if all of this is attributed to her new pearly whites or not, but we sure are excited!
So there you have it, our little girl has teeth. Another major milestone accomplished.
more funny business
i’m pretty sure my favorite sound in the world is the sound our daughter laughing. luckily, jennie’s REALLY good at cracking maddie up! here’s a short video of today’s shenanigans!
beach trip
today we took maddie for her first trip to the beach to visit great-grandmom and great-grandpop (and popper and grandmom too). maddie had a great time. she saw the ocean and the beach (didn’t go in though…too cold right now), walked on the boardwalk and took her first ride on the carousel!
it was an awesome day and we have plenty of pictures to prove it (and some video coming soon!)
