i’m pretty sure my favorite sound in the world is the sound our daughter laughing. luckily, jennie’s REALLY good at cracking maddie up! here’s a short video of today’s shenanigans!

today we took maddie for her first trip to the beach to visit great-grandmom and great-grandpop (and popper and grandmom too). maddie had a great time. she saw the ocean and the beach (didn’t go in though…too cold right now), walked on the boardwalk and took her first ride on the carousel!

it was an awesome day and we have plenty of pictures to prove it (and some video coming soon!)

Today Madeline went to the Doc’s for her 6 month check up! She did awesome. She let out a tiny little whimper that lasted for maybe 20 seconds after getting those nasty shots
and that was it!

Her Doctor is very happy with her progress and so are we. Steve and I are so blessed to have such a happy (she always has a smile on her face) and healthy little girl (not to mention pretty darn cute as well).

Here are Madeline’s stats:

17 pounds, 10 ounces = 88th percentile

26 1/2 inches = 75th percentile

Also, she has gotten the green light from her Doctors to start drinking some JUICE (diluted of course) every so often, and we can start her on the 2nd stage foods now which means MEAT! After she’s mastered all of that she can move on to teething foods and lastly, finger foods.

So many changes! It’s hard to believe that half of a year is over already, where did it go?

we’re halway there…madeline turned 6 months old today. just 6 more months and it all gets easier, right?

just wanted to let everyone know that we posted a bunch of new photos.

not much else going on here, just waiting for maddie’s 6-month checkup this friday. may has been a busy month and we’re only half-way through!

is this madeline’s first word or just random babbling??

ok, it’s been a while since i’ve posted what’s going on around here so here goes:

daycare: maddie has started going to daycare 2 days a week. the rest of the days are spent with nonni and pop-pop! i’m lucky enough to have daycare at my work, so that makes things easy! and we’re lucky enough to have nonni and pop-pop so close that they can watch her too. madeline loves it all, of course! we really do have the best of both worlds.

food: madeline has started on solids and has done really well! carrots, squash, apples, pears, peas, etc etc! she just eats it up (har har)! she DOES seem fascinated with what WE have for dinner though, so we’re both kind of waiting for her to make the jump to finger foods, but will probably be a while.

sitting up: maddie has started sitting up on her own in the last couple weeks, and she’s improving every day. she still sometimes leans too far and falls over, but she is catching herself more and more. crazy.

spitting up: she’s still spitting up! some days are better than others. good times!

christening: this weekend is madeline’s christening. we are hoping that she still fits in her christening gown and that the weather is nice.

all this and she’s not even 6 months old yet…i have a feeling the fun has JUST begun!
