rough night
unfortunately jennie had a rough night last night after i left. as if she hasn’t had a hard enough time already. but she developed a high fever of around 102 which didn’t really help her get any rest since the nurses and doctors were in and out drawing blood, taking her temperature, changing her IV, etc. while this was all going on she was still feeding madeline every 3 hours. all while i’m at home sleeping! i’m such a deadbeat! tonight i plan on staying (as long as they don’t kick me out).
madeline, despite all the issues her mommy has encountered, is doing great…though a little crankier than yesterday. i guess she’s just now coming to grips with the fact that there’s no going back to her happy little bubble!
i would be upset too in her situation. she’s feeding great and sleeping well and when she’s awake is very alert and attentive. she’s such a joy to hold and love.
jennie is feeling a little better now. her fever has come down, she’s moving around a little, but that’s still pretty painful. she’s doing an incredible job being a mom despite her situation.
i’ve been told i need to step up my game when it comes to photos so i’ve added a few that i took this morning while maddie was sleeping on my lap. hope you enjoy them!

Steve, I guess the last thing you need is company. We were planning to come over, but we’ll see how both of you are feeling. Whiffle, Pretty Boy, and Lumpy think Madeline is beautiful. They want to stop in for a visit. Hope Jenn is feeling better. We’ll keep praying.

Sorry to hear about your rough night, Jenn. Just when you needed sleep more than anything. I hope that’s the last of it, but, surgery is surgery, after all, and the recovery does take time.
Let us know if there’s anything you need or want. Love to you all.

Glad to hear that you’re feeling a little better, Jennifer. We were looking forward to seeing all of you but at this point some R&R is more important for a speedier recovery. Don’t overdo it with the walking! Dad and I pray that you will be better tomorrow.
Steve, you are welcome to come over for a home-cooked meal anytime.
The black and white profile of Madeline is beautiful!
Love,
Mom and Dad

P.S. for Jennifer,
Didn’t want to leave you out as far as a home-cooked meal. Can I bring you anything? I made Chili tonight and Roast Beef. Let me know if I can bring anything to the hospital.
