the epidural is in

epidural diagram

so the anesthesiologist (big word) was here about 15 minutes ago. funny story, he has a daughter named madeline rose. and our nurse emily has a daughter named madeline. it was like a convention of PoMs in here (Parents of Madelines).

anywho, i am pretty proud of myself for making it through that ordeal without passing out.

jennie’s BP dropped a bit after the epidural went in, and as a result the baby’s heartbeat became a little unstable, but the nurses did a good job changing her position (jennie’s) and things came back to normal within a couple minutes.

the doctor just came in for a check. about 3cm, 80% effaced. i think…

so now that all that is taken care of, i think jennie’s gonna rest some and i’m gonna watch some sportscenter!

I think I still have a shot with my original time estimate! The first few cm take the longest. I would guess it might pick up a bit now that she has gotten to three.

Hope Jennie is able to get some rest now!

Any talk of breaking the H20 or did I miss that part? That will also put the pedal to the metal!

Is Jenn feeling the effects of the epidural? I hope so. Maybe she’ll share with you, Steve, if you’re feeling tense…of course the spinal part may not be to your liking…

I think Suzanne may be right about the timing - if so, it’ll be tonight! That’s when you can be officially inducted into the PoMs.

Where does TCP/IP live? Now that is technical mumbo-jumbo!!! I was quickly made aware of my past mistake of forgetting about the water being broken!
